Course Overview:
 

Over 14 weeks, you will gain essential vocabulary, sentence structures, and grammar that will enable you to hold basic conversations. Our syllabus covers a variety of practical topics, including:

  • Alphabet & Fingerspelling: Learn how to introduce yourself and spell names using BSL.

  • Numbers & Times: Master the signing of numbers, times, and dates.

  • Weather, Days & Months: Discuss the weather, time of day, and calendar-related topics.

  • Animals & Colours: Learn how to sign animals and use colour vocabulary.

  • Transport & Directions: Become proficient in signs for transport modes and giving directions.

  • Family, Descriptions & Clothing: Talk about family, describe appearances, and discuss clothing.

  • Food & Drink: Sign about your favourite foods and beverages.

  • Home & Hobbies: Express activities at home and talk about your hobbies.

  • Duration: 14 weeks, 1 hour per week on Tuesday evenings.
